The district is located in the extreme south of the Voronezh region and is the largest and most distant southern municipality from the regional center. It borders with the Bogucharsky and Rossoshansky municipal districts, and from the south with the Rostov region and the Lugansk region of Ukraine. Last September, Kommuna published a large article about the Kantemirovsky district, where construction of the Zhuravka-Millerovo railway line was underway, and work was in full swing to restore roads destroyed during the construction of a railway line bypassing Ukraine.
“A new road bypassing Ukraine has appeared in our area,” says today the head of the Kantemirovsky municipal district, Vladimir Pokusaev . “I would like to bow to all 6,000 residents of Titarevka, Osikovka, Zaitsevka, the village of Kovalenkovskoye and other villages for the colossal patience they showed during the construction of the railway line and the restoration of roads. More than 130 kilometers of road surface were destroyed. But together, in a short time, we resolved a large number of problems. In two years, unprecedented work was accomplished. More than 1 billion 400 thousand rubles have been spent. The use of new technologies, including the cold recycling method, made it possible to carry out large repairs with high quality and in record time. The roads are under a five-year warranty service from a major contractor, Rossoshansky DRSU No. 1. Current issues and problems are resolved in a working manner: for example, the contractor takes on the maintenance of even objects that have not been transferred to the balance sheet, understanding that roads are vital arteries along which people’s lives flow every day.

The issue of Commune, published the day before, reported on the grand opening of a new 3.33-kilometer-long road in the village of Kovalenkovsky, which connected the small settlement with the supporting road network. Next year, under federal programs, a road will be built to the large agricultural enterprise Novomarkovskoye, which is implementing large-scale investment projects in the region.
On New Year's Eve, the head of the district, Vladimir Pokusaev, wished the road workers stable work and dynamic development, so that dirt roads would become a thing of the past, and the entire road network of the Kantemirovsky district would be in good condition.
